Maintenance work to be carried out on Monday 4th August 2025

NOTIFICATION OF ROAD CLOSURES FOR HIGHWAY MAINTENANCE

Lincolnshire County Council will be undertaking a programme of carriageway preservation works.

The purpose of these works is to seal the road surfaces thus preventing water permeating the deeper structural layers which otherwise would contribute to the premature deterioration of the road construction and pothole formation. Your road and others nearby have been selected for this treatment. The process involves applying a thin layer of abrasion resistant bitumen to the road surface. The material normally takes between 30 minutes and 2 hours to set depending on weather conditions. Road closures will be in effect during these works. Unfortunately, no vehicular traffic will be allowed on the new surface until it has fully set. If you require the use of your vehicle during these works, please make arrangements for it to be parked off site and off any nearby roads also receiving this treatment prior to its/their commencement. Please also arrange for any deliveries you may be expecting to be scheduled to avoid these works.

Provisional dates for these roads only:

Thorold Way 9am - 4pm  4th August (Mon)

Crescent Mews 9am to 4pm 4th August (Mon)

The Walled Gardens 9am to 4pm 4th August (Mon)

Cockburn Way 9am to 4pm 4th August (Mon)

Harmston Park Avenue 9am to 4pm 4th August (Mon)

Whilst every effort will be made to undertake the works on the dates stated above, please be aware that this type of treatment cannot be carried out in wet or damp conditions, or if the road temperature gets too high. In the event of unfavourable conditions or other unforeseeable circumstances, works may have to be postponed and re-planned. If this happens, we will arrange for the on-site advance notification signs to be updated with a revised date as soon as practicable. Therefore, if works haven’t been completed as stated above, please look out for a date change on the on-site signage over the subsequent couple of days. We apologise in advance for any inconvenience our works may cause.
