Join us in Celebrating North Kesteven’s 50th anniversary!
A message from NKDC:
Following the success of last year’s ‘Leader for the Day’ competition, I’m writing to ask for your support in promoting a new creative writing competition amongst your young communities.
This year, as part of North Kesteven District Council’s 50th anniversary, we are challenging young people once again with a new creative writing competition that asks them to envision the future of their community in 2074.
A lot has changed in North Kesteven over the past 50 years, and we want to hear from children about what they think the future holds. They might consider changes in technology, the environment, and the community, and use their creativity to paint a picture of the future.
The competition is open to all students in Key Stage 2 who live or study within North Kesteven. We have sent an invitation to all primary schools in North Kesteven to participate. We’re conscious that some young people might not get the opportunity to participate in school, or may not be in mainstream education – so we’d love your support in promoting this locally to your residents – to encourage their children/grandchildren to take part.
There will be a winner and a runner-up awarded in each year group.
For more information, please view the attached documents – these are also available on our website: Democratic Engagement and Participation | North Kesteven District Council (n-kesteven.gov.uk)
We can’t wait to read the entries and see what young people think North Kesteven will look like in the year 2074!
